March 13, 2020 – Anime OC Coronavirus COVID-19 update.

Due to the recommendation of Governor Gavin Newsom, and a mandate set forth by the University Conference Center, we have decided to reschedule Anime OC to the fall of 2020 to protect the health and well-being of those who plan to attend Anime OC 2020.

We are saddened and disappointed that we were not able to continue with our Spring event. As veterans of the event production world, we live by the motto of, “the show must go on”.

Despite our rescheduling, we look at the opportunity to prepare for a larger event, with more time and resources now available for us to produce a higher quality convention. You, as our reader, will be the first to know our updated plans and dates.
Our Instagram, Facebook, Website, and mailing list will all have the necessary information for our upcoming ideas.

For those of you who are affected by this schedule change, we understand the frustration that COVID-19 has placed on all of us. Therefore, we are issuing a refund page where you can be given a full refund of your ticket. Any purchases from our website will remain in our system for our future Fall event, including our vendors. Our refund page can be found here.

We thank you for your understanding in this unusual, unprecedented time of crisis. And we hope that all of us can weather this storm until the next Anime OC 2020.

We would also like for you, our readers, to support the artists and vendors in this time of hardship. They worked exceptionally hard to support us, and many of them depend on events for their livelihood.

It is tragic that all of us are affected so severely by circumstances outside of our control, and we can mitigate those losses by supporting them.

Thank you for your time in reading our announcement. We will come back stronger, and we hope to see you at Anime OC 2020 Fall.
